  • Clearwater Sugar Sand Festival

    Clearwater Sugar Sand Festival

    This is an annual tradition at Clearwater Beach, and we were lucky to be there as it was just getting under way. It attracts artists from all over the world, and we were lucky enough to see several of them putting the finishing touches on their work.

    The beach’s sand is uniquely fine grained and, with a little water, lends itself to carving. This year’s theme was Sports. For more information, you can visit the Sugar Sand Festival website.

    With all due respect to Rick Steves, et al, I found some glaring omissions that would greatly help a tourist get along on their first visit to Iceland. These were picked up on a one-week visit, so there are probably more.
