Having gone untouched for countless years, rgetter.com (a.k.a. ric@large – I’m not even sure if I’m going to keep that name, what do you think?) is finally becoming active again. I was afraid my stories were going to be lost in the crowd on SubStack, so I figured this may be a better place for them.
Starting out, I went a little crazy trying to self-teach myself WordPress after all these years. It was like being given access to a huge, abundantly equipped workshop where I didn’t know where anything was and had trouble remembering where I found it when I had to get it the next time. But after a while, I started getting a handle on the basics but still got stumped over small, stupid things that were preventing pages to look like I intended.
Now (I think) I have the basic structure mostly together and can focus more on adding more content. I have quite a large backlog of very short stories and even some longer ones, if I can’t find a publisher to buy them. I’ve been using Flickr to host my photos, but will debuting more and more of them here.
I welcome comments and feedback. If you want to remain anonymous, just use a bogus email and a fake name. Hopefully, after the work I’ve put into it, this site will be for something more than just pure self-indulgence. If it gives someone a few minutes of enjoyment, it will all be worth it!
